Chelsea Joseph, widely known as Chelsea J., emerges as a dynamic force in the realm of professional makeup artistry and esthetics. With a focus on waxing, brows, and makeup, Joseph, based in the DMV (DC/MD/VA) area, brings her services to clients with unparalleled dedication and creativity.

The inception of Vybz Beauty took root during Joseph's time in esthetician school, where she envisioned infusing the beauty world with a unique twist. Drawing inspiration from her Caribbean heritage — her mother hails from Trinidad, and her grandparents from Trinidad and Jamaica — Joseph sought to infuse every service with the vibrant energy and cultural richness of her background. At Vybz Beauty, clients have the freedom to select their preferred music, allowing for a personalized and immersive experience.

 

Despite her relatively brief career span, Joseph has already made significant strides. She graced the stage of Philly Fashion Week Winter Season in 2024, NYFW Fall Season 24 and co-hosted a Wax-a-thon event with a fellow esthetician. Additionally, Joseph is a proud participant in the Makeup Show I artist program and was featured in the I-Artist 6.0 program in May of 2024. Notably, she served as a Benefit Brow Arch Expert at Ulta, showcasing her expertise and versatility in the beauty industry.

 

Joseph's journey into makeup artistry was spurred by a desire to unleash her creativity and delve deeper into the world of cosmetics. Building on her foundation in arts and communication, culminating in a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity Washington University in May 2017, she pursued further education in esthetics, obtaining licensure in Maryland, DC, Virginia, and New York by May 2021.
